Curriculum
During the last few years, our College has grown and developed into the thriving campus it is today. It is our commitment to continuous improvement, and to the future of education in the Borough of Bromley that has inspired us, and our students, to strive for success.
Highlights of 08/09 include:
- We were one of the first colleges in the UK to deliver the new Diploma in Engineering. Aspects of the course were delivered in conjunction with Bromley schools - we were delighted to welcome girls from Newstead Wood school who attended the College part-time.
- We worked in partnership with the London Borough of Bromley to develop Diplomas in Environmental and Land-Based Studies, and in Sport.
- As part of our commitment to the 14-19 Collaborative, we delivered courses for 150 14 - 16 year old pupils in local schools in a wide range of vocational subjects, from motor vehicle engineering to animal care.
- Comprehensive initial assessment and diagnostic tests enabled staff to personalise learning and use ILT, especially the Virtual Learning Environment to raise success rates. eTracker proved an essential aid to tracking assessment, ultimately raising achievement.
- We provided specialist courses for over 100 learners with learning difficulties or disabilities and a further 950 students with disabilities received additional help to integrate effectively into the mainstream environment.
- The introduction of a new foundation degree, Software Development.
- Business Focus, our employer facing team, continued to expand their work with businesses in the area, including Apprenticeships, Train to Gain and Skills for Employment. Find out more>>|
