Business Focus
In 2008 we re-branded our business facing teams as 'Business Focus', which brought together twenty-five years of business advice, support and consultancy with expert training and education as one service, leading to a significant increase our business support activities.
Expanding our employer training
The number of Apprenticeship programmes we delivered grew – with many employees of local businesses studying at the College to achieve their apprenticeship qualifications. ‘Train to Gain’ activities also expanded substantially with a wide range of employers making use of this government sponsored training scheme.
Skills for Employment
Business Focus successfully in bid for more than £1 million worth of redundancy support and business support programmes for the local area. These programmes are being delivered in conjunction with (or funded by) a range of partners including South London Business, Job Centre Plus, Business Link, the London Development Agency, and the European Regional Development Fund.
Our commitment to employers
During a year with Britain and the world in economic crisis, our Business Focus team have had to face a set of new challenges. Working with employers to improve skill levels and productivity and helping companies through threat of redundancy has brought a new range of services and products to their market.
