Students' design is a hit with Enterprise Challenge!

Eight students from Bromley College of Further & Higher Education took part in a Challenge Day held at the Institute of Directors in central London. Competing against thirteen colleges including Greenwich Community College, Eltham College and Westminster Kingsway College, their challenge was to develop an idea for a sustainable, environmentally friendly product with commercial potential.
After carrying out extensive research, the team presented a brilliantly simple idea – “PlugINature” - a small, portable solar panel to power household appliances. The panel was designed to reduce energy costs for those who couldn’t afford large scale solar installations for their homes. The students presented their idea to a panel that questioned and graded them, and were delighted to take second place in the challenge.
The team, all first year students on the National Diploma in Business course, scored particularly well for creativity and innovation, communication skills and team cohesion.
Geoffrey Pine, the event’s organiser and Principal of Greenwich Community College congratulated the team and thanked the college their contribution.
