Breadcrumbs:
Bromley College merger
On the 1st August 2011, Bromley College and Orpington College joined together to form an amazing new flagship College for the area.

The College’s new vision is to be valued and respected in the community as listening, responsive and relevant. We will be recognised as the outstanding centre of vocational and educational excellence in South London and will play a leading role in its economic and social development.
The new College will offer more facilities, more courses and more opportunity for students.
We realise that the changes can be confusing, so we have put together a list of Questions and Answers below, which will hopefully answer any concerns that you might have. If there are any other questions you have, just email us at communications@bromley.ac.uk| and we will respond to you.
Q.Will the merger affect the course I have enrolled on/am about to enrol on?
A. For the forseeable future there are no plans for students to have to study at another campus other than you one you have applied for. You may be offered the opportunity to study at either site for some courses.
Q.Will the name of my College change?
A. Only if you applied for a course at Orpington College, then your site will now be called the Orpington Campus of Bromley College.
Q.Will any of the existing College campuses close?
A. No, there are no such plans. It's 'business as usual' on both College Campuses.
Q. Will things feel different here after merger?
A. They won’t feel very different at all. The campuses will be given new names: Bromley College’s campus at Rookery Lane will now be called the Bromley Campus and Orpington College will be renamed the Orpington Campus, most of the courses and staff will be the same, and each campus will keep their unique identity.
Q. How does the merger benefit me?
A. Being part of a bigger College means that our students will benefit from a wider range of courses, facilities, support and opportunities. Public spending cuts mean educational institutions will get less money. By reducing our management and administration costs, merger ensures that the biggest possible share of these limited resources goes to teaching and services for students.
