General information

This course is designed for candidates who require an update from the 16th Edtion IEE to the new 17th Edtion IEE wiring regulations. The course is also designed for candidates who require the 17th Edition and have not previously studied on an electrical course.

Course content

There are three versions of this course available to students:

Course 1 - a one day update course for candidates who have completed either the 16th Edition since June 2001 or completed C&G 2360 since January 2004, or completed C&G 2330 Level 3. Those who qualified on C&G 2351 after Jan 2004 may also apply for the one-day course.

Course 2 - a two day course for candidates who have completed the 16th Edition since 1992 or completed C&G 2360 since 1992.

Course 3 - a ten-evening course designed for candidates who have not previously studied on an electrical course.

Teaching and assessment

Depending on which course you attend, students will either sit a 30 question 1 hour online exam or a 60 question 2 hour online exam.

Entry requirements

Any potential candidate wishing to join our 17th edition course must send a copy of their certificate [see details below] with their application if they wish to be enrolled.

It is expected that candidates must have achieved one of the following qualifications which addresses the requirements for BS 7671 in order to be allowed to enter this qualification. Centres are required to ensure that only suitable candidates are entered onto the qualification and must hold a copy of each candidate's below certificate(s) for external verification monitoring. Failure to hold such records will result in sanctions being applied and approval being removed.

* City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS 7671: June 2001 (2381), or

* City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Electrotechnical Technology Installation (Building and Structures) (2330-07), or

* City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Electrotechnical Technology Electrical Maintenance (2330-08), or

* City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Electrical Installation Part Two (2360) (from January 1st 2004 onwards only)

Fees

1 day course: £195

2 day or 10 week evening course: £380 (approx.)

Candidates must bring a copy of the 17th Edition BS7671 IEE wiring regulations (2008) and a calculator.
