'It's a really convenient way to study'
Aaron Farron, WJ King Motor Vehicle Apprentice

''I became interested in becoming a motor vehicle technician because my friends and I were really into modifying cars. If any of my friends had problems with their cars I would always try and work out what was causing it and fix it for them.
I did my work experience with WJ King when I was 14 and I loved it, so when I left school I decided to apply for an apprenticeship. I go to Bromley College one day a week and work here the rest of the time. I learn all of the theory at College and I get the hands on experience I need at the garage.
A lot of students who just study find that they know how to do everything by the book but when they’re faced with a problem they get stuck because they haven’t had a chance to practice.
Working here is great, the people are really helpful and it's fun. I’d definitely suggest doing an apprenticeship to anyone who’s interested in getting into the trade. You get so much more practice than you do as a full time student, it’s a really convenient way to study, it’s local and the best bit is that I feel like I’m always learning.''
